What Makes The Movie A Must-watch?

Any filmmaker would tell you that launching a debutant is a difficult endeavor. While attempting to depict them in the best possible light, it’s also critical that the actor in question be given ample opportunity to showcase their talents. From the beginning, Milan Luthria’s Tadap has a clear goal: to showcase Ahan Shetty’s talents as an angry action hero motivated by his love for Tara Sutaria. The film is a remake of the Telugu film RX 100, released in 2018 and based on a true story.

Tadap’s story appears to be a classic love story of a poor boy’s romance with a rich girl, who appears to have been forcibly married off to another man of her father’s choice till the interval. After the intermission, the story suddenly has a lot to unravel, and it rushes to expose everything that led to the lovers’ breakup.

Ishana’s character graph remains consistent throughout the film: he’s intense, fierce, and passionate. It is quite similar to what Ahan does in his first film.

He tried hard in his first picture to internalize a complex character like Ishana. While Rajat Aroraa and Milan Luthria try to convey him as a true-blue action-romance hero, the dialogues in the film are almost poetic and stuck in some time warp, and plot points that don’t serve the story well.

In his portrayal of Ahan’s adopted father, whom the town of Mussoorie affectionately calls Daddy, Saurabh Shukla shows the depth of his love and realism. He is pleasant and offers great backing to the narrative. It is impossible not to be wowed by Tara Sutaria, who plays Ishana’s love interest Ramisa, in every scene, whether funny, romantic, or emotional. Tadap is based on well-executed sequences, a stunning twist, and Ahan Shetty’s excellent debut.

Tadap’s romance and grief sequences are beautifully performed by Tara Sutaria, who portrays the love interest of Ahan. Together, they have intense chemistry. Tara’s character could have benefited from greater depth and dimension, making her more believable to watch.

The movie received a 5.7 star IMDB rating.

Tadap cast

Two ‘lovers’ toss Hindi literature and pulp fiction at each other in a rare light-hearted moment in this Milan Luthria flick. In this convoluted love story based on a Telugu hit, the novel scene almost becomes a metaphor for a jumble of unprocessed ideas thrown at us.

  • Ahan Shetty as Ishana
  • Tara Sutaria as Ramisa

Bottom Line

While the Tadap movie starts sluggish before the interval, it takes off in the second half, unraveling dramatic twists and turns and some hefty action sequences. In the end, one can say that some portions of the second half should have been incorporated into the first half to create a more compelling watch.

The movie is a pure commercial potboiler with no reservations about it. It satisfies the moviegoer in you significantly while still leaving you wanting more. It’s well worth a look, with strong performances, a palatable plot, and, most significantly, a promising debut by Ahan.
