Exciting News for Jio Prepaid Users. No longer does anyone have to take the pains when it comes to recharging WhatsApp. The new feature will be rolled out fresh and ready for the New Year! According to Isha Ambani, Director, Jio Platforms, this attractive and convenient feature will be extremely useful to senior citizens who will not have to venture out just for a recharge.

Both Jio and Meta are working in close collaboration to extend this awesome service to Jio Subscribers.

Akash Ambani, Director, Jio Platforms, announced at Meta’s Fuel for India 2021 event.

One such avenue is Jio on WhatsApp, which is simplifying the entire ‘prepaid recharge’ which will be rolled out very soon. This will bring consumers convenience like they’ve never had before.

The Jio-Meta collaboration is considering opening wide possibilities to create a great shopping experience in India. With the advent of WhatsApp as a payment option, the E-commerce platforms will experience a boost in the economy as people will find it extremely easy to conduct financial transactions.

It is not only the prepaid recharge that will be made possible, there will be a feature to order provisions directly from Jio Mart. This is to begin on a trial basis wherein users will be able to place orders and make payments via Whatsapp. This will indeed be a big step forward for the retailers in the online digital market.

We currently have over half a million retailers on JioMart. We intend to build out native features with WhatsApp that will not only help users shop seamlessly but also help merchants increase their margins, stock assortment and get closer to a larger customer base, said Akash Ambani, director and head of strategy at Reliance Jio Platforms.

Last year, Meta (previously known as Facebook) made a stunning announcement revealing plans to invest around $5.7 billion for the expansion and development of Jio Platforms. This would come to approximately ₹43,574 crores.

With such an investment, Reliance Jio will certainly achieve an unprecedented increase concerning customer base and technological advancement.
