Reliance Jio Secures ‘A’ In CDP Global 2021 Ratings
Reliance Jio attains the highest ratings in CDP 2021 evaluation. Hard work and determination pay off. The telcos take measures to emerge as a leader in environmental safety.
It is a matter of honor and pride for Reliance Jio to have received the highest possible rating from CDP. This is a milestone in the history of Reliance Jio. The telecom giant had received a B rating last year and has now proved to be an unbeatable leader in undertaking and implementing environmentally friendly practices.
The CDP conducts an in-depth analysis of all factors that impact environmental safety and works on promoting projects that preserve water resources, forests and decrease greenhouse emissions.
Reliance Jio is the first and only telecoms company in India to get an A rating on CDPs evaluation. Altogether 272 companies have been appreciated for their leadership roles in taking steps to conserve the environment. CDP remarks that Jio has managed to portray meaningful goals to reduce environmental risk and develop methods to sustain a green economy.
Jio’s long time rival Bharti Airtel has obtained a C rating which again shows how far Jio, despite being the youngest member to join the Telecom race in India, has come along in its daily operations.

CDP rates companies worldwide on a scale from D to A. The companies are evaluated in consideration for the following criteria:
- Leadership Journey
- Management Practices
- Awareness Level
- Disclosure Level
272 companies worldwide – worth USD 12 trillion in market cap – have today been highlighted for their environmental leadership, based on their level of transparency and performance on climate change, forests and water security, CDP announced.
How Are The Companies Rated?
Companies that fall into the leadership level after the evaluation get the A rating. Companies that get a B rating are evaluated for their Management Practices. Those firms that get entry into the Awareness level are rated C and those who fall into the Disclosure level get a D rating.
Out of all the companies that have been rated, only 2 % have received the A rating for environmental leadership qualities. All things considered, Reliance Jio has certainly benchmarked its performance and is in the race to set new standards of operation which will have a positive impact on the environment.
