Spirent Communications plc has announced the beginning of a powerful collaboration with the Jio Network which will validate cloud-native Jio 5G SA(Standalone) core network using Spirent Landslide.

Jio Platforms, an important division of Reliance Industries, currently delivers both 4G and 5G solutions to various regions in India. The Jio 5g launch date in India was June 24th, 2021 and they now envision the use of the 5G SA core network to be a vital part of bringing out the hidden potential of 5G networking.

Spirent Communications is a dominant provider of assurance, test, and analytical solutions for next-generation networks. To bring the 5G SA Core network within the realm of possibility, Spirent and Jio are collaborating to use Spirent Landslide to validate the cloud-native 5G standalone core network. This will immensely facilitate improved traffic conditions and real-life heavy workloads.

Aayush Bhatnagar, Senior Vice President at Jio Platforms said Jio is committed to providing a cloud-native, hyper-scale 5G core network which will solve real-life problems and address unique use cases in India. Our collaboration with Spirent is an important part of achieving this objective.

As per Spirent’s VP and General Manager (APAC region) Peter Tan, Landslide with its in-built suite of test cases, is the best solution to validate the Jio 5G core network functions. All aspects of the Jio 5G network including performance, interoperability, security of IMS networks were tested and validated within the minimum speculated time.

Landslide is a golden reference globally for validating 5G core networks for functionality and performance, allowing us to successfully validate every aspect of the 5G standalone core network – including network slicing, eMBB, MMTC, and uRLLC service capabilities. We look forward to leveraging Landslide capabilities for validating diverse 5G use cases with Jio 5G solutions. Aayush Bhatnagar.

Using Landslide, the partnership has already measured device data, performed core network capacity tests, and also model end-user behavioral scenarios. Jio has been able to subject all IP networks to 5G, which according to 5g updates in India, is a remarkable landmark in the history of technology.
