Aranyak: Where to Watch, Cast, Reviews, Ratings & More!

Aranyak, meaning “of the forest” in simple words, is a new series on Netflix that focuses on the jungle. The show starts with a major event that takes place inside the jungle. The show stars big names like Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Ashutosh Rana.

The terrain is such that the people can’t see any of the wildlife since they’re separated by a thick layer of trees. The tension between man and animal has also been a topic in this novel.

There’s a new show on Netflix that has viewers thinking about the future of AI, created by Rohan Sippy and story by Charudatta Acharya and Roha. Aranyak is a story about life in an undiscovered place, but it somehow still manages to resonate with all the intricacies of today’s world.

Above all is the myth of a demon that is half human and half leopard. It takes a lot to build an interesting script around this. For example, the film “Bulbul” by Anushka Sharma and “Stree” by Rajkummar Rao were successful in this sense.

Aranyak is an extremely well-done series that has placed the limelight back on an overlooked genre — suspense thriller.

Aranyak Storyline

Aranyak is set in the picturesque town of Sironah, somewhere in Northern India. The two officers, who are polar opposites, find their lives intrinsically intertwined as they struggle with their very different love lives and work-related issues.

Angad (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) is a crime-educated police officer from the city, while Kasturi (Raveena Tandon) is a friendly neighborhood officer who knows her town and citizens well.

Is it possible for them to work together as a team to solve the bizarre case of a tourist’s murder? Have the rumors of an elusive serial killer finally come true?

It’s hard not to feel tense when you live in Sironah. Everyone seems like they’ve got something to hide, but I know it’ll all get better soon!

And after 19 years without any major crime, it comes as no surprise that when one occurs, the police are skeptical. It’s hard to go on a wild goose chase for someone who is an elusive rapist and murderer when they’re also trying to prove that he is part of the village folklore.

Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur discloses that Raveena Tandon’s Netflix comeback ‘Aranyak’ will certainly be back with season 2. There’s a promising statement for Raveena Tandon admirers.

The makers of the show took their time setting up 8 episodes, spending too much time on subplots and characters that were detrimental to the story.

It isn’t clear whether the sheer runtime of ‘Aranyak’ is due to their distrust in making it an hour-long movie, or because the plot of this show can be summed up in a feature film. Either way, it seems like they are afraid to take risks with the story so far.

Review of Aranyak Web Series

The show starts with a police station power game which soon leads to the murder, then the investigation, then politicians playing their game, finally it all comes down to family drama. There are many aspects to be considered when making a TV show successful.

But the writer and director have to be careful not to include too many things into an episode that would confuse or irritate viewers.

Vinay Vaikul has done a great job directing it because of the many closeups and setups that are featured in the first few episodes.

The screenplay keeps jumping between each setup to keep you hooked! It is excellent that they use a character’s difficult past as a flashback to open every episode, but where is the bridge for viewers to connect with their emotions?

Aranyak is a famous Bengali novel written by Vibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay between 1937 and 1939. His research was intense and detailed – he spent time in remote areas of Bhagalpur and Purnia finding out how the rural and urban lifestyles correlate.

In the Netflix series, there is a sequence in which Kasturi stops Mahadev from killing a panther that has wandered onto their property. In addition to this, there is no connection between these two.

Wrap Up

Raveena Tandon’s new show, based in a sleepy small town, is based on an old premise seen before on OTT platforms. The premise of “Aranyak” is standard and the setting of a sleepy small-town, rocked by a murder, isn’t anything we haven’t seen before.

In recent years, the quality of television series has been decreasing. Shows are becoming more and more predictable as writers rely on “cliffhangers” to keep viewers engaged.

This show is created by Rohan Sippy and Siddharth Roy Kapur, penned by Charudutt Acharya and directed by Vinay Waiku. Visit Selectra again to experience such quality content.
