Pushpa Movie -The Rise: Cast, Where to watch & More

Pushpa – The Rise is a Sukumar-directed action-comedy film with a strong female lead. Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna star in the film as the primary characters, with Fahadh Faasil, Jagapati Babu, Dhananjay, Prakash Raj, Sunil, and a host of other actors and actresses appearing as supporting characters. The film is produced under the brand of Mythri Movie Makers.

Pushpa Movie Storyline

Pushpa Allu Arjun starts as a truck driver in the smuggling gang and works his way up the ranks. His brilliance resides in the fact that he is one step ahead of his superiors rather than his competitors. He shocks the living daylights out of a temperamental officer (played by Shatru) and then shocks the seasoned players both within and outside of the police department. Despite all odds, he manages to pass the loyalty test. He has the opportunity to court Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna) at his leisure.

Even for a picture of these majestic proportions, the action sequences are not enthralling and exciting enough. The Ram-Laxman team and Peter Heins may have saved their greatest ideas for the second half of the film (‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ which will be released next year). The action scenes are brought to life by his manner and naive demeanour, carefree behaviour, and distinctive characterisation.

The actions of Sunil’s Mangalam Srinu’s egoistic wife (Anasuya Bharadwaj) will be remembered about him. In contrast to Dhananjaya’s Jolly Reddy, Ajay Ghosh’s Konda Reddy is a fully developed character, as opposed to the habitual villainy of Dhananjaya.

If you go into the movie with the understanding that it is not a full tale (a second instalment is planned), the fact that Mangalam Srinu is an ordinary person may not seem like such a big deal at first. However, if you see the picture as a stand-alone, the events that arise as a result of the storyline do not appear to be very noteworthy.

The narrative takes place in the late 1990s in the Seshachalam woods of the Chittoor region. Hundreds of tonnes of red sanders logs are smuggled out of the nation by a gang of rogues, commanded by the invincible Pushpa Raj, who manages to keep them hidden.

The expertise of the art directors (S Rama Krishna and Monica Niggotre) and cameraman Mirosaw Kuba Broek elevates the pictures to a higher level of excellence. Despite this, there are some fascinating story aspects in the second half. This is when the love tune comes into its own. Interspersed throughout the film are a few conversations from the main character, Ey Bidda.

‘Pushpa: The Rise’ occurs when a writer wonders what would happen if the powerful hero removed all of the cardboard enemies. If a formidable adversary arises from the system, the potential situation might be quite exciting. This concept propels the film’s finale, which will be discussed later.

Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) had successfully neutralized all of his opponents, at least for the time being, until Fahadh Faasil’s officer persona joined the battle. The last act of the roughly three-hour story is animated by an acerbic exchange between the two characters.

Pushpa: The Rise is a Telugu action drama film that premiered in theatres on December 17, 2021. The film is directed by Sukumar. The plot centers on a coolie and the smuggling of red sanders, a unique wood that only grows in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh. Red sanders are a valuable commodity in the region.

Review Of The Movie

Performances

Allu Arjun is the movie’s heart and soul, and he plays the lead role. He spent his life under the guise of Pushpa Raj. Regardless of how well the picture does at the box office, Pushpa will go down in history as one of his most accomplished acting performances. Rashmika was given very little to do in the film, but she performed an outstanding job with what she was given.

She seemed to be ok in her less-than-glamorous ensemble. Even though enormous expectations were placed on his performance, Fahadh Faasil didn’t have much to do in this first instalment. Sunil and Anasuya’s characters were not fully developed, and they could not successfully convey villainy. The rest of the group was fine.

Technical Expertise

Sukumar, the director, made the mistake of dividing the picture into two halves. According to reviews, it is possible to complete it in one piece. As a result of this choice, Pushpa: The Rise moves at a glacial pace and bores the viewer for most of the film’s running time.

The cinematography and production qualities are both of exceptional quality. They contributed to the film’s opulent appearance. Devi Sri Prasad’s musical compositions are excellent, as is his voice. However, he came up short in the background score category. The editing and visual effects (VFX) work is mediocre and has acted as a downer.

Overall

Like his earlier film Rangasthalam, Sukumar had envisioned Pushpa to be shot in an unpolished and rustic style. However, Rangasthalam included a central emotional tension throughout the film. Pushpa lacked self-confidence. Furthermore, the choice to split the picture into two parts had a negative impact on the film’s plot.

Conclusion

Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun, continues to be a box-office success both in India and beyond. Currently playing in theatres for three weeks, the film directed by Sukumar is expected to maintain its strong performance.
