Amidst Disney’s streaming issues, Marvel has had quite a successful year with the debut of their new Disney Plus TV series, and it looks set to continue down. While some have expressed concerns that the superhero genre is a fleeting craze, Hollywood has embraced it, with primarily good critical reaction and massive box office profits.

Continuing the craze, MCU has announced the list of upcoming Marvel movies that have been creating a lot of buzz around audiences and fans. To ensure you have all the information you need, we’ve created a comprehensive Marvel movies list of all the movies releasing till 2023.

1. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is an opening of Phase 4 for Marvel, vowing to introduce serious martial arts combat into the MCU. The film is based on a comic book depicting Fu Manchu’s son, who witnesses his father’s evil and chooses to become a superhero, fighting for people who need him rather than the father who will command him. Shang-Chi will be filmed by Destin Daniel Cretton and released in theatres in the fall of 2021.

Simu Liu plays the very first Asian superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, Tony Leung has also been recruited as The Mandarin (the actual one, not his Trevor Slattery impersonation), taking over the role of Shang-mystically Chi’s powerful father from the troublesome Fu Manchu. The first teaser for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was released earlier this year, enticing the remainder of the ensemble, including Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Florian Munteanu, as well as Meng’er Zhang.

Marvel Studios brings Eternals to the MCU in late 2021, with Nomadland’s Chloe Zhao in the director’s chair. The tale of Eternals, penned by Zhao and Patrick Burleigh, will span over 7,000 years, following the stories of the titular eternal extraterrestrial race. It will also likely serve as the launching pad for a more galactic MCU in Phase 4 and beyond. Sersi is played by Gemma Chan, who heads the cast.

Angelina Jolie will play Thena, Richard Madden will play Ikaris, a freshly buff Kumail Nanjiani will play Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry will play Phastos, Lia McHugh will be Sprite, Lauren Ridloff will play Makkari, Don Lee will play Gilgamesh, while Salma Hayek will play Ajak. Kit Harington will play Dane Whitman (a.k.a. Black Knight), and Barry Keoghan will play Druig, the wicked Eternal.

3. Spider-Man: No Way Home

The next MCU standalone Spidey movie, officially known as Spider-Man: No Way Home, will be released in late 2021. Upon its creative side, director Jon Watts and writer pair Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers reunite, whilst Tom Holland reappears in the lead role. Picking up after Spider-Man: Far From Home’s crazy post-credits scene left off, the picture was already supposed to be explosive — with Peter and others perhaps on the run.

As if that weren’t enough, the episode will link into the multiversal storyline that has been unfolding throughout Phase 4, with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) functioning as Peter’s new tutor. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx’s Electro have already been scheduled to appear. Along with them, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, both Andrew Garfield plus Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men, and numerous more are expected to appear.

4. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Cumberbatch’s depiction of Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War won him tremendous acclaim, which is one of the reasons Marvel Studios ultimately decided to move forth with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange’s second solo journey will not be alone, with Sam Raimi set to helm from Jade Bartlett’s story and Loki’s Michael Waldron.

Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), would play a significant role in the plot, the majority of which is yet unknown. Accordingly, Wong, Baron Mordo, and Christine Palmer will be played by Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams. They’ll be accompanied by Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a newbie to the MCU.

5. Thor: Love and Thunder

Thor: Love and Thunder make the Asgardian avenger the first MCU character to receive a fourth standalone movie. Taika Waititi, who directed Thor: Ragnarok, comes back to write (together with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson) and direct the film.

The MCU will see the comeback of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster in Love and Thunder. Jane will be transformed into a female Thor, whereas the new Asgardian ruler Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) searches for her queen. Gorr the God Reaper (Christian Bale) will be the primary cause of tension, with numerous other recognisable names flitting in and out of the tale.

6. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther swiftly has become one of the most notable recognisable films of all time. Although its worldwide profit wasn’t as high as Avengers: Infinity War (something no one anticipated), there’s no disputing that it was a massive triumph for Marvel Studios, both critically and economically. So it’s no surprise that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is in the works, with Coogler returning to the director’s chair.

Following Chadwick Boseman’s unfortunate death, there have been no plans to replace the character, with the movie and potential spin-offs focusing on other regions of Wakanda. As is customary for a film to be released in the summer of 2022, plot specifics are few. Namor, the Sub-Mariner, on the other hand, is said to be joining the MCU in the Black Panther sequels.

7. The Marvels

Captain Marvel’s maiden voyage was a huge success, even if it wasn’t as large as Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame. As a result, it’s not surprising that Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will reappear for a follow-up at the end of 2022. As is customary for Marvel, practically nothing is revealed about Captain Marvel 2’s narrative this long before its release. Nevertheless, it will take place in the present day.

Similarly, the sequel, currently officially named The Marvels, would see Carol pair up with a grown-up Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) as well as Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). After the success of Ant-Man and The Wasp, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), as well as Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), have been confirmed for a third instalment. When both fans and coworkers rallied in favour of Gunn, the choice was made to reappoint him – but not before Warner Bros had already hired him to helm the impending sequel/soft remake The Suicide Squad. Gunn quickly transitioned to a Peacemaker TV spinoff centred on John Cena’s eponymous character.

As an outcome, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will allegedly not begin production until the late months of 2021, at the earliest. As a result, it will be quite a bit of time before we see the crew again and release any plot specifics. Nevertheless, the whole ensemble has been set to return, making guest appearances in Thor: Love and Thunder.

10. 2023 Unassigned MCU Release Dates

Marvel Studios has two unassigned MCU launch dates with no film names attached: July 28, 2023, and also November 3, 2023. Fortunately, they even have two films in production that appear to be poised to occupy those positions. They are just deferring a decision on which movie will suit the spot until development is much further along.

Blade is one of the proposed flicks. The MCU has previously hinted in Loki that Blade is not far away, with a script penned by Stacy Osei-Kuffour and Oscar winner Mahershala Ali set to portray the vampiric-vampire-slaying eponymous hero.

The forthcoming Fantastic Four remake is another of the two unassigned movies. There is some optimism that this version may break the curse because it is being directed by Jon Watts, the director of the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, another series translated in the early 2000s and later had a critically-panned remake in the 2010s.
