Reliance Jio Brings JioPages To STB & Android TV
As per the latest Jio news, JioPages, India’s first web browser, is now available for all Android TV smart televisions and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
JioPages was released by the telecom company in October 2020, and at the time, the browser was only available with the Jio set-top box. However, in March 2021, the business made it universally available for all Android smart TVs with the support of the Google Play Store.
According to Jio’s press statement, JioPages is designed to provide an enhanced browsing experience through faster engine migration, best-in-class webpage rendering, faster page load, efficient media streaming and encrypted connection.
JioPages Features for Android TV
JioPages lets customers browse the web straight from their larger screens, much like any other Web browser available for smart TVs. It includes a dedicated search bar as well as voice search functionality for quick access to web resources. Users can also check their surfing history and bookmark their favourite websites.
It also has a built-in Download Manager that allows you to see what’s being downloaded on your smart TV. The JioPages Web browser also offers a Quicklinks area that allows you to visit popular websites fast from a single screen.
In addition to the regular browser mode, JioPages provides an Incognito Mode for private browsing. It also has a Videos area with over 10,000 pieces of curated material organised into over 20 categories like Music, Movies, Kids, and Lifestyle.
Regional material is also available, as well as the option to customise the default news feed in a preferred language. Users of Android TV may also read PDFs directly on their TVs by downloading them via the JioPages browser.
Moreover, in July 2021, JioPages also announced the launch of the ‘Study Mode’. The new ‘Study Mode’ for JioPages is aimed to assist students focus more on their studies while also allowing parents to relax about their child’s studies.
Users can also add their favourite subjects to the ‘Favourites’ category for rapid access, making it much easier to find them. There will also be quick links to educational websites so that people do not have to waste time searching for them on Google.
So, as of now, JioPages now offers three different types of modes: Standard Mode, Incognito Mode, and a Study Mode. Go to Google Play to get JioPages for your Android TV-based smart TV. JioPagesTV is the name given to the app in order to distinguish it from the JioPages mobile version. Subscribers are in for a season of endless possibilities.
