Ozark: Cast, Plot, Latest Season, Where To Watch and More
Ozark is a Netflix original criminal drama series written by Bill Dubuque with Mark Williams and produced by MRC. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney feature Marty and Wendy Byrde, a husband and wife who migrate to the Lake of the Ozarks to launder money. Bateman also acts as the series director and executive producer.
Season one premiered on July 21, 2017; season two premiered on August 31, 2018; and season three on March 27, 2020. Each of the first three seasons has ten episodes. The show returned for a 4th and final season in June 2020; the fourth and final season will contain fourteen episodes divided into two parts; the first part premiered on January 21, 2022.
Ozark has gotten mostly favorable reviews from reviewers, who praise the film’s director, narrative, tone, and production qualities. The series has garnered 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including 2 for Outstanding Drama Series, including Bateman having won for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 while Garner won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series twice in a row in 2019 and 2020. Bateman has also been nominated for two more Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor – Tv Series Drama.
An Overview of Ozark: Season Four
The fourth and final season of Ozark is now available. The last installment of Netflix’s criminal drama series will consist of two halves of 7 episodes each, the first seven of which are now available on the streaming site.
The first seven episodes debuted on January 21 on the streaming giant, with the final episodes scheduled to premiere later in 2022.
The series has taken its protagonists to some quite dark places throughout its run and, in our opinion, has evolved as Netflix’s most undervalued series.
Thus, this last season is greatly anticipated, as we assume that many Netflix customers are prepared to bid farewell to the Byrde family. However, before the season’s conclusion, what else do we know regarding Ozark season 4? Below, you’ll discover further information on the series’ most recent installment, including its official release, trailers, cast, unresolved narrative strands, and more.
Ozark season 4 episode 1 is scheduled to premiere on January 21, 2022, with the first seven episodes exclusively on Netflix.
With the last season of the program being split in half, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see how the Byrde family’s journey concludes.
Ozark Cast: Who Will Return For One Final Hurrah?
- Jason Bateman in the role of Marty Byrde
- Laura Linney in the part of Wendy Byrde
- Julia Garner in the role of Ruth Langmore
- Lisa Emery in the role of Darlene Snell
- Sofia Hublitz in the role of Charlotte Byrde
- Skylar Gaertner in the role of Jonah Byrde
- Veronica Falcón in the role of Camila
- Ali Stroker in the role of Charles-Ann
- Bruce Davison in the role of Randall Schafer
As Ozark approaches its much-anticipated finale in its fourth season, many recurring (and surviving) characters appear. Jason Bateman, who was just nominated for a SAG Award for Male Actor in a Drama Series for Marty Byrde, will return, as will his on-screen wife Wendy, portrayed by the wonderful Laura Linney. Skylar Gaertner with Sofia Hublitz representing Jonah & Charlotte completes the Byrde family.
Regrettably, Tom Pelphrey will not return as Wendy’s brother Ben this season after his heartbreaking farewell in season 3. Additionally, we do not anticipate Janet McTeer’s resurrection as Helen, who met an untimely, brutal death in season 3’s last moments. Series regular Julia Garner will reprise her role as the indefatigable Ruth Langmore.
We can expect to see much more of Charlie Tahan playing Wyatt Langmore and Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell with their surprising love affair. At the same time, Felix Solis, who was a series regular last season, will reprise his role as the aggressive cartel leader Omar Navarro.
Ozark’s fourth season will include a slew of new characters, apart from existing cast members. As the Byrdes slither their approach into the Ozarks’ political spheres, X-Bruce Men’s Davison will emerge as a strong retired United States senator.
Additionally, the site stated that Ozark season 4 would include artists Alfonso Herrera, Adam Rothenberg, Damian Young, Bruno Bichir, CC Castillo, and Katrina Lenk to the group – together, they will form the majority of both the Navarro criminal family and the police enforcement around them.
Falcón, who you may recognize from HBO’s Perry Mason, will portray Camila Navarro, Omar’s sister and a tough member of the family drug enterprise. Meanwhile, Stroker portrays Charles-Ann, Ruth’s mother’s friend.
Ozark has an IMDb rating of 8.5/10.

Ozark Season 4 Recap: What Happened During Season 3?
Ozark season 3 began with a bang, as fans were treated to our first sight of the deadly cartel conflict. With the FBI circling the riverboat casino and the Navarro cartel’s future unclear, the Byrde family’s dedication was put to the test at every step during season 3. Yet it wasn’t simply their loyalty to the cartel that was tested; the loveless pair also suffered a season-long power struggle, with Wendy taking the reins after jumping all-in the previous season.
The third season of Ozark introduced Wendy’s brother Ben, who put several wrenches into the works. Ben fueled Marty and Wendy’s feud, romanced Ruth, and climatically exposed Helen as a cartel attorney in front of her naïve daughter. This last move sealed his doom: Wendy suddenly demonstrated her allegiance by turning over her brother to the cartel, which probably saved her family but caused Ruth to spoil her relations with the Byrdes.
Due to the family business’s influence on the cartel, Marty & Wendy understood they needed to work together as Helen shifted her attention to the pair. Yet when they sailed out to Mexico at Navarro’s invitation, everything seemed too late – until Helen was assassinated upon their arrival. With Helen’s blood splashed over their cheeks, Navarro gave them an unsettling embrace and warned ominously, “this is only the beginning,” finishing season three with the Byrdes in grave danger.
When Ozark officially concludes, it will be a sad day. However, with 14 episodes remaining before the show’s conclusion, there is a lot to look forward to until Ozark season 4 puts the Byrde family’s saga to a (hopefully) suitable decision.
Ozark Season 4: An Overview of The Second Installment
Part one was a rollercoaster ride in itself, often regarded as the greatest and most engaging of the whole series, and its suspenseful conclusion left us longing for more information.
Here is what you need to do to know about the second installment of ‘Ozark’ season four.
Netflix has not yet confirmed the release date for the second installment of season four, but we can guarantee it will arrive sometime in 2022. We can only hope that it occurs sooner than expected.
What Can Be Expected In The Second Installment?
The second half of season four will begin up where the first half ended, featuring Javi (Alfonso Herrera) assassinating Darlene (Lisa Emery) with Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) for failing to abstain from heroin peddling.
Ruth (Julia Garner) finds them dead and, upon learning that Javi is the killer, hurries to the Byrdes (Marty, portrayed by Jason Bateman, and Wendy, played by Laura Linney), threatening them.
“If you would like to stop me,” Ruth warns Marty, “you’re going just to have to murder me.” As the episode concludes, Ruth alienates from the Byrdes, her destination uncertain.
Each character’s destiny is still in the air, but we can reasonably assume that part two will tell whether the Byrdes eventually break free from the cartel and what Ruth would do about Javi.
Hopefully, we’ll learn what happened to Jonah, the family’s dark horse who handed Javi’s identity to Ruth when she found Darlene and Wyatt’s corpses.
Finally, we’ll discover who survives—and we’re ready to gamble that not all of them would.
How Many Episodes Will ‘Ozark’ Season 4 Part Two Contain?
Part two will consist of seven episodes, giving season four fourteen, including part one.
According to reports, the second installment of the series wrapped shooting in late 2021 with the first, indicating that the material is already in the editorial process.
Given that it has been many weeks since the cameras stopped running, we can only presume the producers are *truly* treating the conclusion differently.
