Today the cinema world mourns the loss of Nedumudi Venu– An emotional loss for the Malayalam Movie Industry. With his astonishingly talented acting, this Malayalee actor had become part of each household in Kerala. His unexpected demise on 11th October 2021 has brought shock and immense grief to all movie lovers.
A rare gem slips away. The Malayalam industry mourns the loss of a true legend- Shri Nedumudi Venu. Having acted in more than 500 movies, this multi-talented, veteran Malayalam actor, who took cinema to outstanding heights with his exemplary performances has made a final departure. His death has come as a sudden shock to the entertainment industry as he was a truly gifted actor who brought life to each of his characters.
Having been in the industry for more than four decades, Nedumudi Venu has showcased exceptional talent by breathing life into so many unforgettable characters. This motivational actor has always been at the forefront of many welfare activities and sponsored programs held for the benefit of society. There is not one actor in the Malayalam film industry who has not been touched by the kindness and blessings of this loving actor. They consider him family as he has always been more than a father/brother figure to them.
Shri Nedumudi Venu, who started his acting career in the theatre, was also a gifted musician as well as an artist. He had a lifetime of remarkable achievements which include three National Film Awards, six Kerala State Film Awards and so many more accolades. With a unique style of acting and in-depth knowledge of cinema, this great personality remains one of the finest actors the South Indian Cinema Industry has ever seen.
Earlier this year, the actor suffered from Covid-19. After treatment, he was recovering and resumed acting. The renowned actor marked his presence in every movie set he was present. However, his health failed him and he suffered a shocking demise at KIMS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 11/10/2021. His funeral was held with police honours on 12th October 2021 at Shantikavadom, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Till the end, he remained active in the film world.
