This weekend marks the release of Godzilla vs. Kong, an HBO Max epic that pits the two most iconic characters in the history of the monster movie genre against one another in a battle of titans.

Who wins the battle?
As the two behemoths meet, there are technically three rounds in Godzilla vs. Kong — but one of those rounds is really a two-parter, and it is soon followed by a third marked with an asterisk. Anyway! With that being stated, the following is a step-by-step description of what happens throughout the Godzilla vs. Kong battle.
Round 1
Godzilla wins the first battle, and it isn’t even close to being a close call. When the credits roll, we see a drugged King Kong being transported to Antarctica while tied to a boat. Godzilla makes an appearance and confronts the ruler of Skull Island. Then there’s the fact that Kong is actually fighting with one hand (which is chained) behind his back. Also, by pretending to be dead, he saves everyone’s lives to a large extent.
Round 2(Part-1)
Later in the film, King Kong travels to the same Hollow Earth to investigate. After his return, he is in possession of a powerful weapon that provides him with a distinct advantage in the battle against Godzilla. With his axe in hand, Kong can hold his own against Godzilla, who is utilizing Godzilla’s own nuclear weapons against him.
Godzilla rises to his feet immediately after the King beats his opponent and continues to fight. He successfully removes his gloves, assuming he was wearing any, as he tosses Kong all over the place and kills him in a matter of seconds. It is only via the use of an anti-gravity Hollow Earth spacecraft that Kong can be resurrected once again.
Round 2(Part 2)
A fresh challenger enters the arena to take on the incumbent! It is the presence of Mechagodzilla. He essentially puts a stop to the whole practice on his own when he attacks Godzilla with a giant robot. Kong and Godzilla agree that Mechagodzilla is the most terrifying of them all, and they join forces to defeat their adversary.
In the end, both Godzilla and Kong work together to take down a single bad guy, which makes things a little more complicated. Indeed, it is possible to claim that they have become friends by the conclusion of the film. Finally it’s a win-win situation !
Round 3
If this is a three-round battle, there is little doubt who will come out on top. Kong takes some damage in the early part of round two, but for what purpose? To make Godzilla angrier and push him into a situation where he will need the use of sci-fi technology to resurrect him?
Indeed, Godzilla is the clear victor since he defeats Kong twice and performs well in the social arena, thereby transforming Kong into his new best friend in the process.
After Godzilla vs. Kong, there can only be one victorious character and that was, of course, the Godzilla.
The Online Platform to watch the film
The film is directed by Adam Wingard, and it was released in theatres and on the OTT platform on the same day. Godzilla vs Kong’s release date was March 24, 2021, in theatres worldwide in a limited run. After that, on March 31, 2021, it was made available in the United States through the OTT platform HBO Max.
Even though the film was released in theatres in India, it has not yet been made available on an OTT service.
