Get a new BSNL Message Center Number – BSNL SMSC List

Sometimes we need to use SMS or offline Message service on our phones. But If the Message Center Number or SMSC number is expired or changed by mistake, you will see you cant send/receive any SMS.

If you are not able to send any SMS then there are multiple possible reasons why this is happening. for example, your SMS Plan is expired, or you don’t have sufficient balance to send that SMS, or by mistake, the SMSC number or the Message Center Number is changed.

Now you know you have sufficient balance but still can’t send the SMS from BSNL Mobile then you need to change the SMSC/Message Center Number for your State region.

How to Change BSNL SMS Center Number?

The BSNL Message Center Number or SMS Center Number can be changed by two different methods. If the first method does not work for you go for the second method.

Warning: Please note down or Take a Screenshot of your OLD SMSC Number in case you do any mistakes you have a backup.

SMS Center number is a sensitive setting in the phone and most of the time Latest Android Phones automatically update your SMSC number and don’t allow users to easily change it.

Change BSNL Message Center Number From Message Settings:

If you are using a Keypad Phone or any touch screen smartphone or An Android Mobile below Android 5.1 OS then you can use this method to change your BSNL Message Center Number.

• First, open the Message App on your Phone
• Then Click on the Settings Icon (top right corner/in the three dots)
• Then Go to Advance Settings
• There you will see one option with SMSC click on it to edit.
• Then Copy the SMS Center Number for your State from the List above
• Paste the SMS Center Number in the SMSC option on your Phone and Click Save.
• Congrats!! Now you can Send any SMS from your BSNL Mobile Number.

Change BSNL Message Center Number Using USSD Code:

Those who cant change the BSNL Message Center Number using the above method should try this method by using the USSD Code *#*#4636#*#*.

(First Make Sure you note down what is your current Message Center Number before you change it.)

• First, open the Phone Dialer App.
• Then Type this USSD Code *#*#4636#*#* (or Directly click on it)
• then you automatically see one window with 3 options.
• You have to click on the Phone Information Option and a Testing Window will get open.
• Then Scroll to the Bottom till you see SMSC:________ Option.
• There enter the BSNL Message Center Number for your State given in the table above.
• Make Sure you enter the Code in double quotes ” “

Conclusion:

I tried both methods but as I am using an Android 11 Device the second method with USSD Code worked fine for me. Please note there is no need to dial the USSD code as soon as you enter the complete code you will see the Testing menu.
