Employees Provident Fund Organisation EPF India has announced a notice regarding Verification of the authenticity of the records submitted by the employer for revision of pension on higher wages.
As per EPF India letter Pension/12/33/EPS Amendment/96 Vol.II/1946 dated 04.06.2019, EPF India directed all their field offices to take necessary action in accordance with order of Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No: 33032 – 33033 of 2015 as approved by the Government and as per the provision of the EPF & MP Act, 1952 and Schemes framed under.
As per this new direction of EPFO, For revision of EPF Pension on higher wages, the employer has to submit all documents from 16.11.1995 or the date on which salary exceeded the ceiling limit showing the details of higher wages on which PF contribution was remitted.
Before allowing such option, the verification of the documents submitted by the employer with the original records should be ensured, so that no payment is made based on forged/fabricated documents.
This is in view of the fact that there is a period of retention prescribed for various documents under different laws and hence there is need to verify the authenticity and availability of the original records.

Also, EPF India directly their field units strictly to take all measures, which has to be ensure about the verification of authenticity of the documents submitted by the employer and also the eligibility of the concerned EPF member before revision the EPF pension on higher wages.
