BSNL 4G Delayed? Roll Out To Take Place Only By 2023
BSNL 4G network plans delayed due to unexpected delays. The Telcos expresses concerns about TCS’ failure to adhere to agreed rules.
Contrary to what was expected, BSNL is facing unforeseen delays in rolling out its 4G trials. While earlier it was notified that BSNL 4G network could be expected by September 2022, the current scenario gives out an entirely disparate picture.
When Is The BSNL 4G Rollout Likely To Happen?
The BSNL trials were earlier to be conducted and completed by October 31st 2021. However, this date has been extended to January 2022. So, the final round of 4G network rollout is further away from that expected. If the existing state of affairs continues to persist, the rollout can be anticipated by 2023.
The recent developments show slight hindrance in the path of progress which was planned out. So, it looks like BSNL users are on a long wait to avail of 4G services.
Challenges En-route
As we had reported earlier this year, It is a well-known fact that BSNL had collaborated with TCS to pave the way for the first indigenous network in the country. The plans were encircling the possibilities of the 4G network being made a reality soon. The earlier announcement of the BSNL-TCS tie-up to create the first 4G indigenous network.
BSNL has now articulated displeasure over non-adherence to the Expression of Interest (EoI) rules by TCS.
According to the previous agreement, TCS was to provide the equipment required for the 4G infrastructure. BSNL had requested for 40 W radios to complete the trials by October 31st 2021, however, TCS had provided only 20W radios which has further delayed the entire process.
As per the Financial Express report, TCS will provide the 40W radios by December 20th. The telcos will then initiate the trials by December 23rd which are expected to be completed by January 15th2022.
Although this is the case, the delay has seriously impacted the due date of the rollout. We can now expect the BSNL 4G network to roll out by 2023.
