Airtel-Hughes Duo To Offer Satellite Broadband Services In India
Hughes and Airtel unite to expand broadband satellite services in India. More focus on providing hybrid network solutions to government customers and business enterprises. Agreement between the leading giants has received statutory approval.
India’s leading telecom service provider, Airtel is joining forces with Hughes Communications India Pvt Ltd, the country’s largest satellite and multi-transport technology provider. The duo announced the new beginning on January 5th 2022. This announcement has been received wholeheartedly by the Indian subscribers as this means an expansion of telecom network possibilities in the country.
Major Agenda Of The Joint Venture
The major agenda of the Airtel-Hughes venture centres around better coverage for satellite broadband services across the country. The expected outcome of this project is also making use of satellite connectivity to provide flexible enterprise networking solutions in various industries. The merger announcement was made earlier in May 2021 and now the required statuary approvals have been obtained. Hence the project has got a green flag approval from the Department of Telecom (Government of India) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
