Government of India has partnered with private companies to create the Aarogya Setu App to track COVID-19 cases all across India and they can also track cases around their area so they can be safe from the infection, where this application released during the second week of April, 2020, and the app got more than 10 million users who have downloaded it and more than 1 million have rated it already on the Android app store (Google Play Store).
The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has expedited the making of the app with a team of top healthcare specialists and experts along with experienced data scientists to make sure that the application is able to provide self assessment, track patients with COVID-19.
This Aarogya Setu app also send out notifications to people who are infected with the virus or someone who came into contact with someone who is infected. The Indian government has released this app in order to fight the spread of Coronavirus and to stop the deadly diseases COVID-19 to reach peaks. How to Download & Install Aarogya Setu App
- Open Google Play Store or iOS App Store
- Search for Aarogya Setu
- Select and Install the application
- Click Open
- Select required language from 11 types
- Click Next > Next > Next > Next
- Register Now
- Read the Term & Service and Click I Agree
- Allow Location
- Click Allow to be visible to other devices for 120 seconds
- Enter your Mobile Number and Click Submit
- Enter OTP Received (If the same number is in that mobile device, it may automatically detects the OTP when received)
- Select Gender
- Enter Full name
- Provide Age
- Click GO
- Select Profession
- Select the Countries if any visited during the last 30days
- Select Yes / No if ready to volunteer in the time if need
- Click Submit
- Take 20 Second Self Assesment Test

Self Assessment to find out if you are infected with Coronavirus
They can also take the self assessment test which is a crucial part of the app where the users will have to enter some of the details and answer questions asked during the test which will in turn give the result of the assessment based on whether you are infected or not.
The self assessment test has been made and integrated into the application after consulting with private companies, hospitals and doctors so that people can be assured that they are being informed correctly about their health condition during the Coronavirus pandemic.
COVID-19 Infected Patient Tracking Live Reporting with Notifications
At the same time, the app will notify you if someone you have met during the last 14 days or so is infected with Corona virus, and if you have been notified that someone you met recently is affected by the virus then you will have to take the measures as shown on the app and the government will be contacting you for further assistance to safeguard you and help you sustain from the virus.
Is my Privacy at risk while using Aarogya Setu App?
As you already know that if you want to use the Aarogya Setu App then you will first have to setup your basic language to understand and then you will have to enable Bluetooth and Live location tracking for always so that the app will keep on tracking your location and check if you have come into contact with someone who is infected with the virus lately.
At the same time you will also have to give access to use your mobile number, so that you will receive notification messages from the app, but the government has released the note that your information is not at risk and after you give access to the app to your Bluetooth, live location tracking, phone number and the device.
It will only send information which is related to your Self Assessment test and it will only send that information to the government servers if you are infected with the virus. Other than that, no information about what is used in the self assessment test will be used so you can rest assured.
Once you have installed the app, it will ask for Mobile Number, Device location and Bluetooth access so that it will monitor your device proximity to other mobile device owners and check if someone near you is infected with the Corona-virus and then notify you on the same.
Once your setup is almost done, at the last part the app will ask you to enter your mobile number and then once you enter your number it will assign a unique and anonymous device ID to your number and device. So, you will receive notification messages regarding infected people and lice tracking regarding Corona virus.
Once you give these access and input your mobile number it will be automatically synced and an anonymous unique device id will be allotted with your mobile number which will further be used only for information and notification messages related to the Corona virus and COVID-19 live patient tracking cases around your area.
No, your device ID will be synced and be linked to a highly encrypted server which can only be accessed by the Government of India and no personal information will be used for any further messages even after the pandemic is over.
