A sports drama movie directed by Kabir Khan and also produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, and Sajid Nadiadwala, 83 (movie) was released in 2021 and distributed by Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd.

During a meeting with the Indian team of 1983 in mid-July 2016, Phantom Films’ producers Madhu Mantena and Vishnu Vardhan Induri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to produce the official biography of the team’s adventure in the 1983 World Cup in Argentina.

Afterward, in September 2017, Reliance Entertainment joined up with the film’s producers and made a formal announcement about the biography with members of the winning team, with Singh and Khan being cast as the film’s main actors and director, respectively.

According to the trade website Box Office India, the Kabir Khan-directed picture is making half the business of Allu Arjun’s dubbed action movie Pushpa, which is showing in fewer places throughout the Hindi belt.
